The research was structured to determine if principalsu27 leadership behavior was related to the absenteeism, job satisfaction, and retention of special education teachers. Further, the research examined the impact of principalsu27 preparation in special education on their leadership behavior. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and Analysis of Variance.The findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between principalsu27 leadership and job satisfaction of special education teachers, and there is a significant inverse relationship between principalsu27 leadership behavior and absenteeism. Data support that there is a significant relationship between preparation of principals in special education and principalsu27 leadership behavior. Further, there was no significant relationship between principalsu27 leadership behavior and retention of special education teachers. The data further showed that there is no significant difference between and within groups of special education teachers as it relates to areas of specialization and job satisfaction. Finally, there was no significant difference between absenteeism and area of specialization of special education teachers.
