The aim of the invention is to provide a cost-effective and fast-acting method for adjusting the content of volatile organic acids (VOA) in the contents of a biogas digester. To this end, pellets containing a mixed culture of acetogenic and methanogenic microorganisms are introduced into the biogas digester.
