The invention relates to a method for estimating a time before collision of an aircraft (V) with an intruder (I), characterized in that it comprises the implementation of the following steps in a processing unit (4) , E0: obtaining a plurality of successive images of a scene comprising an intruder (I); E1: processing of the plurality of successive images so as to obtain at least one stack of images (P0), the stack of images (P0) comprising at least two successive images of the scene, in which an area of interest (1) has been defined; E2: processing of at least one stack of images (P0) by means of a neural network (R) trained so as to extract from said stack of images (P0) at least two pieces of information characteristic of the intruder (I) among, in particular: a type of intruder, at least one dimension of the intruder (I), a time derivative of said at least one dimension of the intruder (I), a distance from the intruder (I ) to the aircraft (V), a time before collision of the aircraft (V) with the intruder (I); E3: calculation of at least one estimate of time before collision (Tc) of the aircraft (V) with the intruder (I), from at least one characteristic information item extracted by the neural network (R) trained.
