The present invention relates to a method for controlling orbit maintaining operation to save a fuel of a lunar probe, which comprises: a first step of determining whether an orbit of a lunar probe reaches an upper limit or a lower limit of an allowable range; a second step of forming the circular orbit of the lunar probe by Hohmann transfer operation when the orbit of the lunar probe reaches the upper limit and the lower limit of an altitude tolerance in the first step; and a third step of periodically performing the operation in accordance with a control method of apsidal line rotation after predetermined time reaching the altitude tolerance after the second step until mission termination. According to the present invention, the method for controlling orbit maintaining operation to save a fuel of a lunar probe can extend the lifespan of the lunar probe by saving the fuel necessary to maintain the orbit of the lunar probe and also can additionally use the saved fuel for other missions of the lunar probe.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
