Provided is an automated operator selection system such that the skills of low-skilled operators can be promptly improved and the skills of an overall team formed from a plurality of operators can be improved. This operator selection system comprises a work skill variation computation unit, a work skill determination unit, an operator selection unit, an information update unit, and storage units which store various information. When a work operation arises for which a response is required, the work skill variation computation unit derives a degree of a variation in work skills in regard to the work operation among a plurality of operators. The work skill determination unit extracts the operator who has the weakest work skill level if the degree of the variation is greater than or equal to a prescribed reference, and extracts the operator who has the strongest work skill level if the degree of the variation is less than the prescribed reference. The operator selection unit selects the extracted operator as a responding operator to respond to the work operation. The information update unit updates the information in the storage units on the basis of the result of the work operation to which the responding operator has responded.
