To realize the determination of a movement amount of an image acquisition unit by a configuration unaffected by costs and size.SOLUTION: A movement amount determining device for determining the amount of relative movement of an image acquisition unit that is used for acquiring the image of a measurement object, comprises: an overlap determination unit for determining, each time second and subsequent images are acquired using an image acquisition unit after a specific timing, overlapping portions of the acquired image and a previously acquired image; a synthesized image generation unit for superimposing the plurality of images acquired using the image acquisition unit after the specific timing in the overlapping portions determined by the overlap determination unit to generate a synthesized image; and a movement amount determination unit for determining the amount of movement relative to the measurement object of the image acquisition unit on the basis of the synthesized image generated by the synthesized image generation unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
