To provide a fastening method of a cast aluminum member which improves dimension accuracy by suppressing thermal deformation, and can suppress the lowering of the rigidity of a fastening-objective member when mechanically fastening the cast aluminum member and the other member.SOLUTION: This fastening method of a cast aluminum member has a surface treatment step (step S1) and a fastening step (step S2). In the step S1, surface treatment is applied by pushing in a mechanical fastening-scheduled point fastened with the other member in a cast member of aluminum or an aluminum alloy while rotating a friction agitation tool. Here, a push-in amount of the friction agitation tool in the step S1 is at a level for removing a chill layer of a surface of the cast member. In the step S2, mechanical fastening means fastens the cast member and the other member in the mechanical fastening point after superimposing them on each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
