The present invention relates to a reagent composition for regulating cell cycle which contains long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) linc00598 as an active ingredient, and is located at chromosome 13, and confirms the function of linc00598 present in the 74 kb downstream of FoxO1 , A microarray expression analysis of a cell line in which linc00598 was stably knocked down was performed. As a result, linc00598 knockdown affected the expression of 156 genes and 119 genes were down - regulated. One of the downregulated genes is CCND2, which functions as a cell cycle regulator and is regulated negatively by FoxO1. On the other hand, it was confirmed that linc00598 interacted with FoxO1 to interfere with the binding of FoxO1 to the CCND2 promoter. In addition, knockdown of linc00598 induced cell cycle arrest at the G0 / G1 boundary, which significantly reduced cell proliferation.
