The present invention relates to a reagent composition for regulating a cell cycle containing long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) linc00598 as an active ingredient. In order to confirm a function of linc00598 which is located in chromosome 13 and present in 74 kb downstream of FoxO1, microarray expression analysis of a cell line which stably knocks down linc00598 is performed. As a result of the analysis, linc00598 knockdown affects the expression of 156 genes and downregulates 119 genes. One of the downregulated genes is CCDD2, which functions as a cell cycle regulator and is negatively regulated by FoxO1. On the other hand, linc00598 interacts with FoxO1 to interrupt binding of FoxO1 to a CCND2 promoter. In addition, knockdown of linc00598 induces cell cycle stop at a G0/G1 boundary, which significantly reduces cell proliferation. That is, it has been found that lncRNA linc00598 and FoxO1 can regulate transcription of CCDD2 and regulate the cell cycle.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
