The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, treating, or alleviating obesity or obesity-related complications containing an extract of Angelica tenuissima as an active component. The extract of Angelica tenuissima according to the present invention is confirmed to have an effect of inhibiting the increase in body weight and fasting blood glucose by a high-fat diet in a dietary obesity-induced mouse model, and thus increasing an energy metabolic rate. In addition, the extract of Angelica tenuissima has an effect of alleviating insulin resistance and dyslipidemia, and an effect of alleviating fatty liver, hepatotoxicity, and inflammation. Therefore, the extract of Angelica tenuissima can be usefully used for preventing, treating or alleviating not only obesity, but also obesity-related complications that can be caused by weight gain.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
