The present invention relates to a method for producing a receptor binding domain of MERS virus spike protein (MERS-RBD) as a MERS antigen protein and a method for producing an antibody for the antigen. The method for producing the MERS-RBD antigen comprises the following steps: preparing a transformed cell by introducing an expression vector comprising nucleic acid encoding the MERS-RBD of MERS virus spike protein into a Drosophila melanogaster S2 cell; and culturing the transformed cell in a culture medium.
