The band-tight packaging for containing the absorbent article includes a pocket component for receiving the absorbent article. The pocket component includes a front wall and a rear wall, and at least the front wall defines an opening into the pocket component. At least the front wall and the rear wall form a packaging closed end. The packaging flap is hingedly connected to the rear wall surface to fold over the opening, and the packaging flap includes a flap wall surface having an outermost flap wall edge. The band-fastening mechanism is attached to the outermost flap wall edge. The band-tightening mechanism is separable from the outermost flap wall edge between two spaced attachment points, and includes a flap-opposed inner edge. In order to keep the packaging in a closed configuration, the packaging closure end may be inserted between the outermost flap wall edge and the band-tightening mechanism, the flap-opposing inner edge.
