Provided are a method for constructing an embankment for a back surface area (BA) of an abutment, and an embankment structure (100) therefor, which provide the function of discharging a torrent of water during flooding, thereby preventing erosion or scouring of the back surface area (BA) of the abutment due to the river flow, and provide strong durability in which dangerous damage due to flood torrents is not exhibited. An integrated reinforcing material gabion (110) is formed by a gabion (111) installed at a side edge of the back surface area (BA) of the abutment and a reinforcing material (112) spreading from the bottom surface of this gabion (111), a reinforcing aggregate material (120) is compacted atop the reinforcing material (112), the gabion (111) is filled with a water-discharging aggregate material (130), thereby constructing a gabion installation layer (110A), and gabion installation layers (110A) are stacked sequentially to approximately the same height as a bridge (B1), thereby constructing an integrated embankment structure (100). Also provided are an embankment construction method and an embankment structure therefor with which these integrated reinforcing material gabions (110) can be arranged facing each other in the transverse direction of the back surface area (BA) of the abutment.
