Data processing system that allows to predict a flare-up crisis of a patient affected by a chronic respiratory disease, in particular COPD, and who is treated with oxygen therapy, comprising: A) at least one processor (P1, P2) configured for a) determine pressure variations (DP) of gas flow during a given duration (dt), from pressure measurements (P) of a gas flow of oxygen therapy administered to a patient during the given duration (dt); b) determine a breathing duration (Dresp) of the patient, with Dresp dt, during the given duration dt, from the pressure variations (DP) during said given duration (dt) and deduct at least one respiratory frequency value (Val_FR) during the given duration (dt) and repeating several times this respiratory frequency value determination during the duration of respiration (Dresp) so that several values of respiratory frequencies (Val_FR) are obtained successive measurements during the breathing duration ( Dresp); c) calculate at least an average value of respiratory rate (Vmoy_FR) over the duration of respiration (Dresp), from several values of respiratory frequencies (Val_FR) successive measurements during the duration of respiration (Dresp); d) calculating at least one average value of breathing duration (Vmoy_Dresp) from several successive breathing durations (Dresp) for a long duration dL; e) determine, from several mean values of respiratory frequency (Vmoy_FR) obtained in the long duration (dL): - a median value (FR_med) of respiratory frequency and - a variance (FR_var) of respiratory frequency; f) define a three-dimensional vector (FR_med; FR_var; Vmoy_Dresp) from triplets of median value of respiratory frequency (FR_med), of variance of respiratory frequency (FR_var) and of average value of breathing duration (Vmoy_Dresp) over long duration (dL); g) compare or evaluate the three-dimensional vector (FR_med; FR_var; Vmoy_Dresp) with a memorized mathematical reference model representative of the normal health status of the patient in question; h) detect any three-dimensional vector (FR_med; FR_var; Vmoy_Dresp) outside the mathematical model representative of the normal health status of the patient in question; B) memorization means (M) designed to store: - the values of respiratory rate mean (Vmoy_FR) and successive respiration durations (Dresp) provided by said at least one processor (P1, P2); - at least one mathematical reference model representative of the normal health status of the patient in question; C) and electric power supply means (E) feeding the storage means (M) and said at least one processor (P1, P2).
