Forming a well for an underground mine In forming a mine well for an underground mine, the earth excavated by a drilling machine (21) is carried upward by the handling unit (22) to a transfer station (33), where it is transferred to mine elevators (36) which are raised and lowered along mine elevator guides (38) within the pit hole (19) for transporting excavated material to a ground surface region. the transfer station (33) is moved downward as the excavation progresses.
