process for detecting, differentiating and quantifying t-cell populations using real-time reverse transcription pcr (rt-qpcr) technology. The present invention relates to a method for detecting, differentiating and quantifying t-cell populations comprising the following steps: a) establishing contact of a first aliquot of an individual's body fluid with at least one antigen, wherein: the body fluid contains antigen presenting cells (apc) and t-cells, b) incubating the first aliquot with at least one antigen for a specified period of time, c) detecting and differentiating t-cell populations by detecting at least one first t-cell-induced apc marker in a given t-cell population in the first aliquot and a second aliquot of the subject's body fluid that has not been incubated with at least one antigen by the reaction process in reverse transcription polymerase chain (rt-qpcr), real-time, and d) detection and quantification of t by determining the ratio of the detected marker of the first aliquot apc to the second aliquot, as well as a kit for performing the process.
