Provided are: a sugar chain having a complex sugar chain structure that is scarcely affected by decomposing enzymes in the blood; a glycoprotein having the sugar chain; a method for producing the sugar chain and a method for producing the glycoprotein; and a recombinant protein, a recombinant gene, a recombinant vector and a transformant that are to be used in the aforesaid production methods. The recombinant protein according to the present invention is characterized by being defined by (a) or (b): (a) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOs: 1 to 13; and (b) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence that is derived from an amino acid sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOs: 1 to 13 by deletion, insertion, substitution or addition of one to several amino acids at a position other than amino acid position 168, and having a pyruvic acid transfer activity specific to galactose.
