Systems and methods that facilitate unperturbed measurements of low and null magnetic fields in high temperature plasmas. The various embodiments provided herein are generally directed to systems and methods that facilitate unperturbed measurement of low and null magnetic fields in high temperature plasmas. Exemplary diagnostic techniques for measuring low magnetic fields in high temperature plasmas, including FRC and magnetic cusp magnetic field configurations, are presented herein. The present non-perturbation technique can measure not only reversing magnetic field, magnetic field amplitude, spatial profile, and direction, but also zero magnetic field (null) position and its shape. Real-time measurement of the magnetic field can be used for active feedback control of FRC position and instability.
