The present invention relates to the field of communications, and in particular, to a method for pushing patent information during user demand-based positioning and a server, capable of improving user experience. The method comprises: a server obtains, by receiving a navigation request message sent by an in-vehicle device, a destination address of a current journey of the in-vehicle device and a maximum serial number which is previously received by the in-vehicle device and corresponds to the destination address; then collect statistics about all journeys of the in-vehicle device within a preset period on the basis of a navigation service, and obtain a frequently used destination address of the in-vehicle device; obtain target pushing information according to the destination address of the current journey and the maximum serial number corresponding to the destination address only after it is determined that the destination address of the current journey is not the frequently used destination address of the in-vehicle device, the target pushing information comprising pushing information which corresponds to the destination address and is greater than the maximum serial number, and push patent information to a user.
