Provided are a liquid crystal display and a method for improving a large-viewing-angle colour shift of a liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal display comprises: a timing controller (10) for sending data including a gamma value corresponding to a frame image to be displayed to a data source drive integrated circuit (20); the data source drive integrated circuit (20) for generating a gray-scale voltage supplied to each pixel according to a gamma value corresponding to a frame image to be displayed and a gray-scale value corresponding to each pixel of a liquid crystal panel in the frame image to be displayed; and a liquid crystal panel (30) for displaying a frame image to be displayed based on the gray-scale voltage supplied to each pixel, wherein the gamma value corresponding to the frame image to be displayed is different from a gamma value corresponding to an adjacent frame image. According to the liquid crystal display and the method for improving a large-viewing-angle colour shift of a liquid crystal display, where the product costs are not improved and the penetration rate of the liquid crystal panel is not reduced, the large-viewing-angle colour shift is reduced, so as to increase the viewing angle of the liquid crystal display.
