- A method for monitoring a geological CO2 storage site, by locating the CO2 plume from 4D seismic data. - Stratigraphic inversion of the seismic data is carried out, so as to obtain the impedances P and S, before and after CO2 injection. A density variation cube and an incompressibility module variation cube are constructed from these seismic impedances. Finally, the free CO2 plume is located in the subsoil, by identifying, in the cubes, the cells where the density variation is negative and the incompressibility modulus variation is negative and of absolute superior value. at a given positive threshold. - Application to geological CO2 storage processes.
