Hospital patient maintenance unit, comprising: a support surface (500) configured to receive a patient; and a life support system (300A, 300B) attached to said support surface (500), said system comprising: - an anesthesia machine (328); - a plurality of tanks (330) adapted to contain pressurized gases; - a first set of gas supply conduits connected respectively to the outlet ports of said reservoirs, the free ends of said first set of gas supply conduits of respective dispensing valves being provided; - a second set of gas supply conduits connected respectively to the inlet ports of said tanks, the free ends of said second set of gas supply conduits being provided with respective supply valves; - one or more perfusion devices (318; 326) - an automatic control system operatively connected to said anesthesia machine, dispensing valves, perfusion devices and provided with a control interface; - a power supply unit operatively connected to said automatic control system; and - a power supply line operatively connected to said automatic control system in parallel with respect to said power supply unit, said power supply line having an electrical connector (324), wherein said power supply machine anesthesia (328), tanks (330) and related ducts, perfusion devices, automatic control system, power supply unit and power supply line are arranged in a container (300A, 300B) attached to said support surface ( 500) of the patient, and in which the dispensing valves are arranged on an external surface of said container together with said control interface and said supply valves and the electrical connector (324) of the power supply line are arranged in a connection member (400) adapted to be mounted on a base member configured to supply pressurized gases to the reservoirs and energy to the system a control, characterized in that said connecting member is a T-shaped connecting member (400) having: - an upper portion having fasteners (408) of a second set adapted to detachably engage with the fasteners of the first set for firmly holding a surgical table, - a lower portion having fasteners and connectors of a third set adapted to detachably engage with upper fasteners and connectors of a surgical station mount and to firmly hold the connecting member (400 ) T-shaped to the support, - at least one side portion (414A, 414B) having fasteners and connectors of a fourth set, - internal ducts and at least one electrical cable connecting the corresponding connectors of the third set and the fourth set ; and said life support system, which has: - retention fasteners adapted to detachably engage with the fasteners of the fourth set and to firmly maintain the life support system in the T-shaped connection member (400), - connectors gas inlet (332A, 332C, 332D, 332E) and at least one electrical input connector (324) configured to detachably connect with the corresponding connectors of the fourth set, - gas outlet connectors (312B) adapted to be coupled with external tubes for administering oxygen and / or an anesthetic gas, and - electrically operated devices to support the life of a patient lying on the surgical table, configured to be fed through said electrical input connector and having gas inlet conduits coupled with the gas inlet connectors and gas outlet ducts coupled with the gas outlet connectors (312B).
