reservoir electromagnetic (em) monitoring systems and methods, which includes a system with a light source that produces a beam of light and an array of sensors arranged at the bottom of a body of water and above one or more underwater regions of of interest, wherein the matrix is coupled to the light source by means of an optical fiber. A sensor modulates the interrogation light beam in response to a signal in induced in the subsea formation by a source. The system further includes a processor that controls the light source, which processes the modulated light received from the matrix, and collects data with the matrix to produce analyzes in, each analysis being based on data sets collected at different times. The em sensor is physically isolated from a surrounding underwater environment. The analyzes are combined to produce a geological time-span model of the regions of interest.
