It is an apparatus for forming deformations in a nonwoven blanket. The apparatus includes a pair of forming members forming a contact line therebetween. forming members include: a first forming member having a surface comprising a plurality of distinct and spaced male forming members; and a second forming element having a surface comprising a plurality of recesses in the second forming element, wherein the recesses are aligned and configured to receive the male forming elements therein, wherein the recesses have a periphery, viewed from above. which is larger than and may completely surround the periphery, seen in plan, of the male elements. at least one of the forming members has a plurality of distinct surface texture elements therein.
