The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing 16S 19e - isositsiriquina, Nb - oxide - (16S) and isositsiriquina or olivacina,Or extracts of bark of the roots of the species of the family Apocynaceae and the use of such compositions such as antitumor,The use of the composition containing olivacina preferentially as antileucêmico.The present invention also refers to the process of extraction and isolation of an indole alkaloid type piridocarbazol, particularly, the 16S 19e - isositsiriquina,The Nb - oxide - (16S) and isositsiriquina or olivacina from extracts of bark of the roots of the species of the family Apocynaceae, preferably of Rauvolfia capixabae.
