PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decommissioning method and decommissioning system of a nuclear reactor that can cool the nuclear reactor while avoiding recriticality even when the nuclear reactor breaks, can suppress leak of radiation and radioactive material by blocking the breakage part, and can perform robust containment.SOLUTION: In order to decommission a breaking nuclear reactor 1, a slurry generation unit 5 mixes water of a moisture supply unit 2, boric acid of a boric acid feed unit 3, and silicon dioxide of a silicon dioxide feed unit 4, a slurry injection unit 6 injects, into the nuclear reactor 1, the slurry produced by mixing the water, boric acid, and silicon dioxide (slurry injection process), and the slurry absorbs thermal neutrons while cooling the nuclear reactor 1 and coats the surface of the breakage part of the nuclear reactor 1 or molten nuclear fuel (coating process).
