FIELD: biotechnology.;SUBSTANCE: modified open-field test unit for studying behavioral reactions of laboratory animals is introduced. The unit includes a circular sectioned arena with a high border. However, it has several interchangeable arenas made of a material that does not absorb odors and a single sliding board with fastening mechanisms. The arenas have a variable diameter, suitable for the size of the test animal, and are divided into the same number of sections equal to 37, while the central section has a circular shape.
