ARP_Probe Agent ARP Design of Agent Type's ARP Spoofing Detection Scheme which uses the ARP probe Packet and Implementation of the Security Solution
The present invention provides an ARP spoofing detection scheme to detect whether an ARP spoofing attack is present by using a modified ARP packet, and a security solution. The provided method transmits an ARP probe packet when an ARP packet causing an ARP cache update is received, and determines whether an attack is present on the basis of the information of a response packet. In comparison with typical methods which detect an ARP spoofing attack in an appliance form, a new change is introduced in detecting an ARP spoofing attack by developing an agent-type scheme in which independent detection can be made by a host. To verify the detection performance of the proposed scheme, a security solution operated on the basis of the proposed scheme is implemented and tested, and it has been verified that various types of ARP spoofing attacks can be detected.
