The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for improving, preventing or treating cognitive disorders comprising an extract of Lycopersicon esculentum as an active ingredient. The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition and food composition for improving, preventing or treating cognitive disorders, a food composition for improving or preventing memory power or learning ability, a composition for inducing nerve growth factors and a method for differentiating nerve cells, which comprise an extract of Lycopersicon esculentum. The composition comprising an extract of Lycopersicon esculentum according to the present invention induces expression of blood brain barrier (BBB)-passing nerve growth factors, such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF-2) and Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) expressed in skin cells.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
