A robot for software education according to the present invention includes: a robot main body; a moving means changing the position or direction of the robot main body; an operation means attached to the robot main body and performing work in accordance with a user instruction; an algorithm storage unit storing an algorithm made up of the orders of execution of the moving means or the operation means following the passage of time; a control unit controlling the moving means or the operation means in accordance with the algorithm stored in the algorithm storage unit; an algorithm combination means disposed on an outer surface of the robot main body, generating the algorithm in response to a manual operation by the user, and storing it in the algorithm storage unit; and an algorithm display means displaying the stored or generated algorithm for the user.
