A method for collecting statistics about usage information of drinking straw distinguishing technology, and a drinking straw storage device. The method comprises: recording time periods preset by a user and different drinking straw slots matching the time periods(S101); determining current time (S102); configuring, according to a time period to which the current time belongs, a drinking straw slot matching the time period as a currently used drinking straw slot (S103); and dispensing a drinking straw in the currently used drinking straw slot to the outlet of a drinking straw storage device when a customer is to take a drinking straw, and sending technology usage data to a data acquisition end preset by the manufacturer (S104). By means of the method, drinking straws of particular diameters can be automatically provided for users according to peak demand time periods/low demand time periods of catering shops, and the manufacturer can also conveniently and effectively acquire usage information of the related technology in time.
