The invention relates to a process for catching "pirate" drones flying unauthorized over forbidden areas, in order to bring them safely to the ground, without putting at risk the safety of human lives and goods in the area overflown by said drones. The claimed process consists in catching "pirate" drones using "hunter" drones, which are classic small-sized drones, such as a helicopter- or airplane-like one, fitted with a target-tracking mobile camera, with a microwave and infrared proximity sensor and with a net-launcher for immobilization, which permits the optimal positioning of the "hunter" drone in the proximity of the target, the launching of the immobilization net over the drone, the netting and catching of the "pirate" drone which is brought back to the ground, with a reduced speed, in safety conditions, by means of the immobilization net provided with a miniparachute or by means of the imobilization net permanently bound, by a safety cable, to the "hunter" drone, until the drone is landed.
