system and method for managing the use of a deep-sea asset and system for acquiring data related to a deep-sea asset. a system and method for managing the use of a downside asset. In one embodiment, a system includes an equipment interface, a tag reader, and a remote data center. The equipment interface is arranged near a drillhole being drilled, and configured to process information related to the use and physical condition of the downhole asset during drilling of the drillhole. The tag reader is configured to transfer a measurement of a downhole asset attribute to the equipment interface. The remote data center is arranged away from the drillhole and is configured to assess the condition of the downhole asset based on information received from the equipment interface and additional information related to the use of the downhole asset received. remote data center over the life of the downstream asset.
