A combustion control method that mixes homogeneous compression ignition with low octane number gasoline and diffusion compression ignition, using low octane number gasoline and using a control method with diffusion compression ignition as a countermeasure for forced ignition. In the intake stroke, a part of the fuel is injected into the cylinder or the intake manifold to generate a low concentration uniform premixed gas. Further, before the piston reaches the top dead center in the compression stroke, another part of the fuel is injected and introduced into the cylinder to diffuse and spontaneously ignite in the air, thereby realizing diffusion compression ignition. The flame burned by the diffusion compression ignition ignites the premixed gas in the cylinder, and realizes ignition combustion of uniform lean fuel. As the temperature and pressure in the cylinder rise, multipoint spontaneous ignition occurs inside the homogeneous lean mixture, and uniform compression ignition is realized. According to such a mixed combustion control method, knocking is avoided even though a high compression ratio, lean burn, stratified combustion and high-speed combustion are realized.
