CHARACTERIZATION OF ITURIN HIGH-YIELDING UV MUTANT BACILLUS SUBTILIS AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF ITURIN PRODUCING BACILLUS SUBTILIS BY SITE-DIRECTED MUTAGENESIS
The present invention relates to characteristics of high iturin-yielding UV mutant Bacillus subtilis, and a method for improving an inturin producing strain by site-directed mutagenesis. Specifically, as a result of primary and secondary UV treatments on a wild Bacillus subtilis strain, iturin yield is increased, and a part of mutagenesis and characteristics thereof are confirmed by the base sequence analysis of a secondarily UV-treated strain, so the strain having increased iturin yield by using a mutant-derived iturin biosynthesis gene is improved and can be used as a biological controlling agent, and the gene is used to transform a strain having different biological control activity, thereby being used in development of a novel strain.
