ABSTRACT A system and method for contextualizing and personalizing mobile user experience in a shopping trip and mobile coupon delivery using a user's location and behaviour. Data relating to mobile user behaviour is leveraged to initiate more effective coupon delivery, recommendations and information. Using a mobile user's location, an enterprise interested in targeted coupon / information delivery may initiate an information / coupon delivery that are specifically related to the user's location and behaviour. The contextualized and personalized information may be transmitted to mobile respondents by a number of different mechanisms such as push notifications, text messages, in-app communications, in-app information delivery, emails, etc. The coarse location from GPS and fine location from BLE devices are effectively combined to provide creative proximity marketing solutions. Further, the system includes algorithms to avoid misuse of user profile and location data and avoid unfair competitive practices, while allowing multiple retailers to on-board and engage their users on a single shopping platform.
