PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mode switching method capable of switching operation modes of a microcomputer by software, a mode switching program, an electronic control device provided with a microcomputer mounted with the program, a motor drive system provided with the electronic control device and a machine tool provided with the motor drive system.;SOLUTION: A user program 1020 stored in a ROM 102 of a DSP 21b is started by a CPU 101 in a normal operation mode, the CPU 101 is shifted to the same state as at power-on in accordance with an input of a switching command, after that, a second boot program incorporated in the user program 1020 is started to rewrite status information showing a voltage state of a specific pin into information corresponding to the kind of the inputted switching command, thereby switching the present operation mode to an operation mode corresponding to the kind of the inputted switching command.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
