The present invention relates to a method for processing a magnesium alloy processing material and a magnesium alloy processing material manufactured thereby. More specifically, the method for processing a magnesium alloy processing material includes a step of performing tensile strain on the magnesium alloy processing material at a strain rate of 3-12% with respect to a surface parallel to a process direction as an axis, thereby increasing the mechanical strength of the magnesium apply processing material on which the tensile strain has performed and maintaining low cycle fatigue life. The present invention can increase dislocation density by preforming the tensile strain on the magnesium alloy processing material at a strain rate of 3-12% with respect to a surface parallel to a process direction, thereby increasing the yield strength and the tensile strength of the magnesium alloy processing material. Also, as the yield strength is increased at the time of tension and compression, the plastic anisotropy is increased, thereby increasing the processability of the magnesium alloy processing material. Furthermore, the magnesium apply processing material on which the tensile strain has performed allows fatigue deformation to be controlled by separation between {10-12} twin-twin, thereby increasing strength and maintaining the low cycle fatigue life.
