Disclosed are a system for recognizing a stop position of unmanned transport equipment in a container terminal yard, capable of enabling unmanned transport equipment to be stopped in an accurate stop position desired by a user by using radio frequency identification (RFID) and a camera to increase operation efficiency, and a control method thereof. The system for recognizing a stop position of unmanned transport equipment in a container terminal yard comprises an RFID tag (20) installed in a designated area of a container terminal yard (1), unmanned transport equipment (70) including an RFID reader (40) in which directional antennas (30) are installed on the front and rear sides to recognize the RFID tag (20), a wireless local area network (WLAN) module (50), and a camera (60), a stop display unit (80) displaying a stop signal for the camera (60) to recognize, and a central control unit (90) transmitting a call message for the unmanned transport equipment (70) to move to an operation area. The unmanned transport equipment (70) can effectively stop in an accurate stop position and loading unloading and shipping can be smoothly performed.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
