Provided are: a method for spectral regulation of a near-infrared absorbing substance, being capable of attaining high near-infrared shielding power and desired spectral characteristics; a near-infrared absorbing composition and a process for manufacturing the same; a near-infrared cut-off filter and a process for manufacturing the same; a camera module; and an agent for spectral regulation of a copper compound. A method for spectral regulation of a near-infrared absorbing substance, including a step for adding an agent for spectral regulation to a copper compound. An agent for spectral regulation of a copper compound, containing a compound (A1) which has at least one ligand atom that coordinates through an unshared electron pair or a compound (A2) which has at least two coordination sites.
