PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite alkali metal hydride which, in a reaction with ammonia, can satisfy both of a good reaction ratio and good hydrogen generation density per mass, a method for producing the composite alkali metal hydride, a method for producing an alkali metal amide compound, a method for producing hydrogen, and a method for ammonia-hydrogen conversion.SOLUTION: The composite alkali metal hydride is one having two or more alkali metal hydrides compounded. The composite alkali metal hydride shows a half band width of a diffraction peak in the Cu-K wavelength X-ray diffraction measurement, which is not less than 1.5 times as wide as that of a mixed alkali metal hydride where two or more alkali metal hydrides are mixed.
