The water level controller has an air trap (4) which is connected to the wash- or rinse tank of a machine, where the air trap is in communication with a pressure switch. One of multiple wall elements (10.1,10.2,10.3) are arranged in a chamber (4.1) which is formed in the air trap. One of the wall elements is placed in the area in front of an air outlet opening (9.1) of an air connection piece (9).
