The device (100) has a terahertz-radiation source (108) producing a transmitting-terahertz-radiation (104). An examination head (110) is positioned at a human tissue (102) to be examined. A terahertz-waveguide (112) is flexibly designed, and conducts the transmitting-terahertz-radiation from the source to the head. A terahertz-radiation detector (116) detects a receiving-terahertz-radiation (106) coming from the tissue. A polarization beam splitter (114) is arranged between the source and the head, and allows partial adaptation of the transmitting-terahertz-radiation to the head. An independent claim is also included for a method for examining a human tissue by a terahertz radiation.
