The storage compartment has a side wall (2) in which two guide rails (24, 25) extend, and a compartment divider (6). The compartment divider displaces on the guide rails that engage a base section (7) that engages with a sliding structure (16). A spring element (11) protrudes from the interior of base section. The sliding structure is connected with the spring element that is provided transversely to the guide rails that orients resilient force to the sliding structure. A groove with opposite oriented apertures is formed in the guide rail.
