An aluminum-iron alloy comprising 5-20 wt.% iron, 0.1-5 wt.% copper, 0.003-4 wt.% vanadium, and 0-6 wt.% element (A) chosen from silicon, cobalt, zinc, nickel, manganese, magnesium, lithium, yttrium, cerium, scandium, hafnium, silver, zirconium, titanium, strontium, sodium, antimony, boron and nitrogen, remainder of aluminum and unavoidable impurities is cast, to form blank or ingot. The cast aluminum alloy is cooled such that intermetallic phase-primary iron aluminide is separated. The ingot or blank is extruded, to obtain aluminum-iron alloy semi-finished product.
