An additive for improving conductivity of carbon nanotubes is provided to impart excellent conductivity and uniformity to a carbon nanotube composition. An additive for improving conductivity of carbon nanotubes comprises at least one chromophore(36) containing at least one aromatic carbon ring, and at least one metal(37) which is combined with carbon nanotubes to increase conductivity of the carbon nanotubes. A carbon nanotube composition(30) includes: plural carbon nanotube strands(31) which are dispersed while touching one another; and the additive(35) to be mixed with carbon nanotubes. The chromophore includes at least one selected from a nitroso group, a thiocarbonyl group, an ethylene group, an acetylene group, and an azo group, and the groups constituting the chromophore are pi-bonded with one another. Further, the metal is one or more selected from Ni, Co, Fe, Cr, Cu, Zn, Au and Ag.
