PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy extruded tube for a heat exchanger which has excellent extrudability, and also has high strength after brazing. PSOLUTION: In the extruded tube for a heat exchanger having a composition containing 0.8 to 2.0% Si, 0.05 to 0.5% Fe, 0.05 to 0.5% Cu and 0.005 to 0.05% Ti, and in which the content of Mn is regulated to 1% and the content of Mg is regulated to 0.1%, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, the compression deformation resistance (test temperature: 520°C, a strain rate: 1sSP-1/SPand stress at 25% compression) of the billet subjected to homogenizing treatment before extrusion is 15 to 20 MPa, and also, the tensile strength after an extruded tube hot-extruded from the billet is subjected to heating treatment at 600°C is 90 to 150 MPa.
