PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable pitch propeller control device that can achieve decrease of a main engine trouble by control of load change, especially in waves, and energy consumption control or the like based on an optimal control theory or the like by considering response delay to a command value in driving of a blade angle of a variable pitch propeller.;SOLUTION: A variable pitch propeller control device 10 includes: a main engine 11 as a prime mover that drives a hull 18; a variable pitch propeller 13 driven by the main engine 11 through a drive shaft 12; an operating condition setting means 14 for setting an operating condition of the variable pitch propeller 13; a propeller flow insertion speed prediction means 15 for predicting an inflow velocity of water to the variable pitch propeller 13; and a control means 16 for controlling the variable pitch propeller 13 based on the operating condition set by the operating condition setting means 14 and a prediction result of the propeller flow insertion speed predicting means 15.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
