The method involves performing a heat treatment on a tool for hardening purposes. A primer coat is applied on the tool, and a transparent paint coating is applied on the primer coat. An identification unit includes an identification zone that is provided with the paint coating. A limiting unit is placed along the identification zone. A background is placed around the identification zone, where the background includes the paint coating. A strong contrast coating is formed along the paint coating. A treatment surface is formed between the primer coating and the paint coating.
