Automatic chain tensioner for bicycle, has first segment used to press on chain to ensure correct tension of chain, and second segment overlapping chain to ensure better guidance of chain on support unit
The tensioner (1) has a first segment i.e. arm (2a), used to connect a helical or spiral coil of a stainless spring (2b) to a support unit on a chain. A second segment (2d) is parallel to axis of rotation of a back hub, where the second segment forms axis of rotation of a roller or a toothed wheel (3), or consists of a pivot of a shoe. A third segment is used to press on the chain to ensure correct tension of the chain, where the third segment is formed in circle arc shape. A reversed-U shape fourth segment overlaps the chain to ensure better guidance of the chain on the support unit.
